Favorite Museum Photos: Nature Centers

Kingman and Heritage Islands Park, located in DC, is the site of a proposed environmental education center. When I visited a year ago, Kingman Island had outdoor classrooms, clusters of rocks or benches where students could sit. Irvine Nature Center, in Maryland, has an indoor exhibit space, an outdoor classroom for members, and nature trails.

About Laura

Paralegal with Master of Arts in Teaching in Museum Education, frequent museum visitor, based in Washington, DC. I care about what museums can do, both in terms of public offerings and internal practices, to make the world a better place.
